Welcome to D’Alessandro Restaurant

The D’Alessandro Story: The love of cooking for Rosa started at an early age in the town, Corpi Santi, of Lima Dei Peligni in the Abruzzi region of Italy. She was taught the art of authentic Italian cuisine by her mother, Giulia, who would cook food for the men working out in the fields every day. As World War 2 began, it wasn’t lon before Rosa’s mother and sisters, Angie and Lisa, were forced to flee their home. Their father Giuseppe, unbeknownst to the family, was already in a German concentration camp. He was detained there for over three years, and the family did not know if he was alive or dead. Giulia moved her young family from one relatives home to another to avoid the risk the war had brought to Italy. When the war ended, they had a joyful reunion with Giuseppe and decided to move to America.

Giuseppe came to the Quad Cities to live with his sister, Marianna in 1953 and sent for his family in 1954. Rosa and her mother began to do again, what they loved so much, cooking! They named their business D’Alessandro Pasta after Giulia’s father Angelo., who was killed at 21 years old in World War 1. Their fresh homemade pastas and sauces didn’t take long to get noticed and grew into a steady business. D’Alessandro Pasta flourished and is widely regarded as the best kept secret among many Quad City residents.

Running the business from their home for the last 22 years, Rose and her mother realized the time had come to hand down their cherished recipes from three generations and allow the QC to the chance to enjoy their food in a restaurant setting. D’Alessandro’s uses only the freshest ingredients and we make all our pasta by hand every day. We desire to give our customers the same true authentic Italian experience. Rosa wouldn’t have it any other way. We are honored to be able to continue the D’Alessandro business and hope you enjoy our fresh homemade pasta and sauces.
